The 6th Hadong Mountain Dew Tea Cultural
Festival May 24 ~ May 27, 2001 |
|
Hadong is considered
one of our nation's sacred grounds for tea culture, as it is the
site of the first Korean TEA harvest in 828 AD by Sir. Daeryeom.
Hadong Tea undergoes 9 grueling, repetitious cycles of painstaking
hand picking, rubbing and drying starts during the rainy season
and lasts until late May. During this period, the Ssangyesa
Temple area in Hadong is filled with the aroma to tea leaves. Join
in the leaf picking and tea sampling events.
