Rice cakes and liquor have long been indispensable refreshments on feast days. On joyous, sad, religious, and many other special occasions they were shared with relatives and neighbors.
Gyeongju was the capital of the thousand-year Silla Kingdom, and numerous ancient treasures are preserved here including cultural heritages registered by UNESCO. Gyeongju hosts the Gyeongju Cherry Blossoms Marathon.
A festival held at this time serves visitors from all over the world
a variety of rice cakes and fermented drinks. Anyone interested can experience making them.
