The 12th Ramie Fabric Cultural Festival 2001
May. 1 ~ May. 6, 2001

White ramie or
mosi, is the flax-like fiber that comes from the stem of the ramie plant, a perennial in the nettle family.
Hand-woven white ramie textiles of the Hansan area have long been famed for their fine texture, porosity, snow-white color and gossamer lightness, which made them the preferred material for summer clothing.
Many things here will be new to the visitors' eyes, including the fashion shows and a weaving experience for participants.
