 Choneunsa Temple is one of the greatest temples in the area of Mt. Jiri. This temple, once called Kamnosa Temple, was established by Son(Zen) Master Togun-sonsa in the third year of King Hungduk-wang of the Shilla Kingdom(828). It was destroyed by fire in 1773 during the Chosun Dynasty. But Son Master Hyeam-sonsa reconstructed it in the following year and changed its name to Choneunsa. It has a national tresure, the Amitabha Buddha painting(Treasure No.924) and two Chollanamdo Tangible Cultural
Properties. Gilt Bronze Buddhist Shrine(No. 29) and Kuknakpojon Hall(No. 50)
