Daewangam
(Great King Rock), an island representing
King Moonmu's tomb, is located about one hundred meters off the coast near
the twin pagodas of Kamunsa. The rocky island is easily viewed as the
road reaches the sea. A small fighting village is located
less than one mile north of the stream's mouth. One
may rent a small boat to make the round trip to the round trip to
the island. It is worth the effort and recommended when the sea
is calm. In the center of the pool a large rock,
approximately twelve feet in length, marks the burial site. At
low tide the top of this oval rock is almost visible above the pool's
surface.
