Imjingak Pavilion |
Imjingak, located some 50 kilometers northwest of Seoul,
vividly demonstrates the tragedy of the Korean War. Imjingak is
a three -story building of traditional Korean architectural style,
with one floor underground. Built on 6,000 pyong in 1972 to soothe
the grief of those who left their home and families in North Korea,
it has now become a famous tourist attraction. Various materials
and historical relics pertaining to anti-communism are displayed
inside. Unification Park and a monument have been erected nearby
in honor of the US soldiers for their participation in the Korean
