Jangrung, located 1 kilometer from Yongwol-up, is the tomb of King Danjong, the 6th king of the Choson Dynasty. He was deprived of the throne by his uncle, Suyang Taegun, and was exiled to Chongryongpo. He was killed at the age of 17. His body was thrown into the river but secretly taken out by Om Hung-do who buried him in this location. The tomb was declared a Royal Tomb in the 24th year of King Sukjong. Since then, a ritual service honoring Danjong is held every year on the Ching Ming day of the year. Since 1967, the Danjongje Festival has also been held here annually.
