Jeju Island, with its plentiful
stones, has many tales concerning stones. Mokseokwon is a small park where these tales are visualized
through stones and trees. Around 1,000 roots of old trees and about
500 stones of human-like shapes are displayed within the natural
woods. The most famous exhibition at Mokseokwon is "The Life of Gapdol". There
is a series of stones named as a couple, 'Gapdol' and "Gapsun',
and showing their life of young, middle and old ages respectively.
The park is especially popular among newly-wed couples.
Mokseokwon was designated Jeju Island Treasure No.25 for protection.
