Situated on Mt. Mansusan (575 m), Mooryangsa Temple is believed
to have been built by
Pomilguksa (the highest ranking monk) during the
Unified Shilla Dynasty.   It is one of the best-kept temples in the Puyo area.
This
temple contains numerous cultural assets including Mooryangsa Kungnakchon Hall (Treasure No. 356), Mooryangsa Tanggan Chiju (a supporting pole from the Koryo Dynasty), a five-story stone pagoda
and a stupa of
Kim Shi-Sup, a renowned Choson-period scholar.
It has quite a few hermitages under its umbrella such as Mujinam,
Tosoram and T'aejoam.
