Situated on Mt.
Mansusan (575 m), Mooryangsa
Temple is believed to have been built
by Pomilguksa
(the highest ranking monk) during the Unified Shilla Dynasty.
It is one of the best-kept temples in the Puyo area. This
temple contains numerous cultural assets including
Mooryangsa Kungnakchon Hall (Treasure No. 356), Mooryangsa
Tanggan Chiju (a supporting pole from the
Koryo Dynasty), a five-story stone pagoda and a stupa of Kim Shi-Sup, a renowned
Choson-period scholar. It has quite a few hermitages
under its umbrella such as Mujinam, Tosoram and T'aejoam.
