The
Incident of Abduction of Brigadier General Dodd and |

During Brigadier General Dodd,
the 12th Commanding General of the P.O.W. Camp, was investigating
the 76th Camp in the morning of May 7, 1952, he was taken captive
by P.O.W.s, and Brigadier General "Charles Colson" succeeded
him as the 13th Commanding General, who endeavored utmost to release
Brigadier General Dodd, and ordered 1, 116 households of the residents
in Gohyon District to evacuate within 24 hours on May 9, so the
residents were forced to throw out their beloved lands and houses
as evacuatees and suffered hardship for three(3) years. Brigadier
General Dodd was released on the fourth day of May 10 and the riot
was brought to conclusion, but the succeeded Brigadier General Colson
and the air-commodore Dodd degraded one class each two person as
they were reponsible for the commander of the repatriate. On May
11, as the 14th Commanding General, Brigadier General "Boterner"
was assigned and burned all houses of residents and public buildings
and the P.O.W. Camp were divided into 500 P.O.W.s units and strict
control was executed by installing double wire netting around the
Camps. |
